Founded in the derelict old fire station shed on Curtis Oval, in 2006 the Shoalhaven Heads Men's Shed has come along way in a few short years, mainly due to the support and efforts of an enthusiastic group of members.From the humble beginnings of an 11 metre by 4 metre shed the club now boasts 2 additional extensions to expand the workshop space and incorparate a meeting room and wood storage area. With the assistance of the Shoalhaven City Council and a number of funding bodies the members have carried out all of the extension constructions themselves giving the Shed a total workspace of 127 square metres.
The current Shed is a credit to a bunch of retired men who found a new lease of life when they joined and began to channel their efforts into the project.

As the membership increases, total to date is 46, the members are already talking of further extensions to accommodate additional members and improve the current social area facilities.

The Charter of the Men's Shed is to assist the Community with whatever they can. Members undertake many projects from repairing a leaking tap for a disabled pensioner to carrying out much needed repairs to our financially strapped Surf Club. Many other projects have been undertaken such as the manufacturing of Myna Bird Traps.Whilst this project started off as a project to build 3 traps it soon turned into a major source of funding with some 48 traps completed and operating in the area.

The members have also supported a number of worthy causes such as Hands Across NSW which was set up to assist farmers in drought affected areas of NSW. The Shed members contribution was to repair pushbikes and toys for children of the affected families. An ongoing project is the reparing of wooden toys, furniture etc for the Jerry Bailey Pre School which shares Curtis Oval with the Shed.

The Shoalhaven Heads Men's Shed prides itself on the fact it is a shed for men only where members can freely discuss such issues as mens health etc.
