MINUTES OF GENERAL MEETING HELD AT THE SHED
ON MONDAY 2ND NOVEMBER 2009
President Graham opened the meeting at 12.30 p.m.
Present: As per the attendance book - 18 members.
Apologies: Ray Harlow, Don Pollock, Ken Merrifield, P. Bounds, C. Tipping, T. Aspin and A. McAusland.
The Secretary reminded members at the meeting that as this Shed is an incorporated body, apologies should not be given unless the member has received personal representation for this non-attendance.
Minutes: It was moved by B. Owens, seconded B. Molyneux, that the minutes of the previous meeting, as circulated, be confirmed. CARRIED
Matters Arising from the Minutes: Nil.
Correspondence In:
1. Integral Energy - Reply to our letter of compliance.
2. Card from K. Merrifield - on holidays.
3. Cliff Tipping - suggestions as follows: -
1) Renting of Myna Bird Traps - Considered impracticable as there is barely enough room to make them, let alone store;
2) Entice new members - This is the province of every member to introduce others to our Shed, remembering that we have a 50 ceiling;
3) Run skill classes - This has been brought up so many times. President Graham has repeatedly said that he would teach anyone who is keen to learn on any power tool. Signs in the workshop warn members not to use any equipment unless Graham approves;
4) Community jobs - Skilled member to take learner for instruction;
5) Barbecue equipment list for jobs - A checklist has been in use for some two years now.
Correspondence Out:
1. Berry Men's Shed - letter of thanks.
It was moved by J. Davis, seconded R. Steingrube, that Correspondence In be received and Out be endorsed. CARRIED
Business Arising from Correspondence: See 3. C. Tipping (above)
