MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD AT THE SHED
ON WEDNESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER 2009
President Graham opened the meeting at 12.30 p.m.
Present: As per the Attendance Book - 12 members.
Apologies: P. Shalala, K. Merrifield, A. Foster, C. Williams, C. Pennells, W. London, R. Stewart, R. Harlow, J. Davis (was present to cook barbecue).
Minutes: It was moved by A. McAusland, seconded W. Owens, that the minutes as circulated be confirmed. CARRIED
Matters Arising from the Minutes: Nil.
Correspondence In:
R. Burton, Bunnings - Request for Certificate of Currency;
Mrs. Rosenthal - Card of thanks and cheque for $100.
Correspondence Out:
Bomaderry Bowling Club - Acceptance of invitation;
S. Heads Bowling Club - Request for market stand;
R. Burton, Bunnings - Request for barbecue dates;
H. Stevenson - Letter of thanks;
Mrs. Rosenthal - letter of thanks;
Linda Mulley - letter of thanks;
R. Burton, Bunnings - request for trestle;
R. Burton, Bunnings - Certificate of Currency.
It was moved by H. Meehan, seconded R. King, that the Correspondence In be received and Out be endorsed.
Business Arising from Correspondence: Nil.
REPORTS
Treasurer. In his absence, K. Merrifield's report was circulated by Vice President Bill and is attached to the minutes in the Minute Book.
Shed Manager. No report was received.
Project Manager Ray related that the workbook does not have too many jobs in abeyance and that the Picnic Shelters should be completed Monday.
Equipment Officer. Large vac. has a faulty switch.
Fund Raising Officer Richard gave a general rundown on the Bowling Club Market Day and the funds generated. The meeting approved of the manner the barbecue was conducted. Much discussion resulted and it was resolved that a new square gas barbecue ($99 at Bunnings) and six cotton aprons be purchased prior to the next event on 31st October 2009. Motion by A. Webb, seconded by D. Pollock. CARRIED
The barbecue will have folding legs and could be stored on top of the current unit that has a solid wooden top.
It was moved by R. Steingrube, seconded W. Owens, that the reports be received.

GENERAL BUSINESS
It was moved by H. Meehan, seconded R. Myers, that the Honorary Life Membership conferred on Cliff Chambers on 7th August 2009 be retrospectively confirmed.

NOTICES OF MOTION - moved by correspondence - Treasurer Ken Merrifield.
That the Shed's General Meeting dates revert to the first Monday of the month. The meetings changed from Mondays to Wednesdays - by plebiscite - to accommodate members not able to attend Mondays. According to our records, unfortunately these members still have not attended
That the net profit of the Bowling Club Market days be donated to a selected list of local community charities. These charities should be non-profit and spend their funds in this area and this community.
A seconder must be found at the next meeting to enable both these notices of motion to be debated.
The meeting agreed that a newsletter be written to members in an attempt to encourage more attendance at the Shed and general assistance in our endeavours to help in community projects. The Secretary will prepare and deliver it in the current month.
There being no further business the meeting closed at 1.30 p.m.
