SHOALHAVEN HEADS MEN'S SHED
MINUTES OF THE GENERAL MEETING HELD AT THE SHED
ON 3rd OCTOBER 2011.

President Bill opened the meeting with a welcome at 12.10 p.m.
Present: As per the Attendance Book - 15 members.
Apologies: R. Tilley.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting: Moved by K. Merrifield, seconded B. Molyneux, that the Minutes as circulated be confirmed. CARRIED

Matters Arising from the Minutes: Nil.

Correspondence In:
1. Arboretum Group - re application for grant to improve toilets and shed for equipment.
2. Tall Timbers - Donation for bird feeder - $20.
3. Thank You from Iris Meehan.

Correspondence Out:
1. Grant application Do It Yourself Tool Box - received.
2. Bill Watts, Integral Energy - Re supply to Shed.
3. Shoalhaven Heads Rural Fire Brigade - Acceptance of defibrillator.
4. Beyond Blue Survey - returned.
5. Community Partnership - final sign off.

It was moved by B. Patten, seconded G. Russell, that Correspondence In be received and Out be endorsed. CARRIED

REPORTS
President Bill informed meeting that Shed worked up to the Preschool Spring Fete and had everything ready for sale - he thanked all members involved.

Treasurer Ken circulated the financial statement to the meeting as posted in these Minutes.

Shed Manager Ben stated that Shed has now been cleared of all excess tools and that all accessories have been sorted. Joe Cook suggested that an architrave be installed on doorway from workshop to machine room. G. Russell will look into this.

Preschool Fete. Treasurer Ken informed meeting that the result was extremely good with very little left.

Tool Maintenance Officer Graham reported he can now settle on machine positions. He will also compile an inventory of all our tool shop equipment. Secretary to assist with paper work. Blades of planer to be sharpened and adjusted.

Project Manager Ray reported that there were only two projects to be looked at. Preschool is still ongoing; holes in boat will be filled. Bowling Club's job will be looked at by B. Molyneux for report.

Fund Raising Manager Allan reported that the Red Cross Markets on 1st October were very successful with very little left over at the end of the day. Food goods were very popular - cool drinks were not. A good turnover and profit margin and an excellent response by members working the stall. Thanks also to new member Patrick Duggan for the laundry services on the day. School Anniversary left to General Business.

It was moved by R. Steingrube, seconded J. Cook, that the reports be received. CARRIED

GENERAL BUSINESS
¢ Clelland Lodge and R.S.L. Care Christmas Party Barbecue Lunch at Shed - 22nd November 2011. Secretary to send written invitations to both lodges and will advise members of date and time in October Minutes as this will be our Christmas event.
¢ Curtis Park Toilets - It was decided that K. Merrifield will pursue the funding needed to convert the existing Park toilets in order to accommodate wheel chairs and disabled access. The Arboretum Group will source their own funding to build a shed and will call a meeting of all parties using the Park so that they have full knowledge of any action about to be taken in the Park.Ken has offered any assistance needed in their funding application.
¢ Shoalhaven Heads School 150th Anniversary Celebrations - 26th November 2011. Shed has been asked to render assistance by cooking and serving sausage sandwiches on this day. We will only need to take barbecues, trestles and gazebos. Staff will be needed and the Committee is calling for members to assist. Allan Foster is officer-in-charge - please contact him if you are available. This will also be a chance for us to display myna bird traps, mirrors and chopping boards either for sale or by order. Meeting with school - G. Russell and A. Foster to attend.
¢ Trailer needs some attention - Nelson will attend to this matter.
¢ Defibrillator - Ben Patten said that now the defibrillator has been received, we should have members well versed in its use and suggested a member enrol in an Ambulance First Aid Course. Subject to cost volunteers are - Richard, Alan, Ken, Joe, Patrick, Ben and Brian. Secretary to arrange.
¢ Grants - K. Merrifield advised that funding applications at the moment are: - Celia Park Toilets; Shoalhaven Heads Visitor signs (Tall Timbers) auspices Chamber of Commerce. Ken is also seeking extended insurance through Australian Men's Shed Insurance.
¢ Men's Shed Cards -Secretary asked for further photos of Shed in order to make up cards for thank you, get well, sympathy etc.

There being no further business, President Bill closed the meeting at 1.55 p.m.
